I'm so tired of the AI slop
NOTE: A friend of mine recently recommended me to say my thoughts out loud. Not what I want people to hear, the real me, real thoughts. She does that on Instagram, where she posts a lot of stories, and she says it's incredibly therapeutic. She also had a traumatic childhood as I did. I'm more of a writer so here it goes.
I'm so fucking pissed that people who used to be competent have to be using AI for everything.
I explicitly told the guy I'm working with that I'd like to design the payment section that we're working on TOGETHER.
Lo and behold, next day he spits a 5,000 line PR, everything generated using AI, with some documentation that treats me like an idiot.
Obviously it's not him treating me like an idiot, it's his favorite friend, the one he trusts for everything, Fable.
A lot of endpoints are not how I wanted them to be.
Hey, maybe that's why I asked the day before "let's design this together?"
Of course Fable is going to be more pleasant than talking to me. It's a fucking sycophantic machine designed to make you feel good. It's trained for that. I don't think any human ever can be better at it.
I won't tell you "yes" to everything, precisely because I have much more experience than you.
I'm getting paid for this but ugh, it quickly goes from "a cool project" to "another job" like this.
And on other news, the people I help them run ads, had a price point of $20 for class and suddenly they changed to $15 because AI says it's a better price. Again, my knowledge completely useless against a sycophantic machine.
Instead of making this a terrible rant, here's what I'm going to do for the rest of the work day:
I'm gonna say fuck this shit and go do some bouldering. Gonna do some heavy bench press, something a machine luckily still cannot do for me. Proof of work. After that, we're headed for the summer house and I'll be grilling some meat. I'll be fasting today.
Touch some grass, see nature, and keep figuring out how I can stay away from the AI madness. Keep getting strong, keep working on my yoga, something that hopefully a machine cannot do for me and get strong.
I'm not gonna work any more today. Seriously dude fuck you for today. I told you explicitly when we started working that if it was gonna be a job plagued with AI slop, it wasn't for me. And you said "yes yes I know". I warned you. Now you're in love with it. In love with not putting in the hard work.
Sigh.
